Rick & Barb Miller

Rick and Barb Miller are The Zone’s owners.

Rick’s family owned Miller’s Merry Manor throughout the state and Barb worked at Miller’s Merry Manor for 18 years.

She also worked at Botanical Gardens in Plymouth for a decade plus.

The couple owned and operated their own landscape business called RickScape for 15 years and from 1997-2005 they owned and operated South Shore Golf Course (1997-2001) in Syracuse and Eagle Glenn in Columbia City.

They are active members in the Boys & Girls Club of Plymouth and Rick serves on the Ancilla Golf Committee and on the Marshall and Starke Development Center board.

Rick is a Purdue University graduate and member of Delta Chi fraternity. He is on the director’s advisory board of the Purdue Center of Cancer Research.

The Plymouth High School alums are John Purdue Club members and live in Plymouth with their two sons, Ricky and Robbie.

Dan Dewar

Dan is The Zone’s assistant activities director, assistant activities scheduler and assistant facility manager.

He is the current freshman basketball head coach for the Plymouth Lady Pilgrims.

Dan, who has spent a decade in the Plymouth program, has had the responsibility of directing the Lady Pilgrims’ Youth Programs fall and winter travel league for fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades.

He was hired into the Plymouth program by IHSAA Hall of Fame coach Dave Cox.

Dan and his wife, Tina, have been married for 21 years. They have two children - Victoria a Plymouth High School graduate, who played for the Lady Pilgrims and is currently enrolled at the University of Indianapolis, and Jacob, who is a student at Plymouth High School.

Dan, a Plymouth resident for 16 years, has quite a passion for the game of basketball, which he says develops life skills through fundamentals, teamwork, leadership and faith.

Andy Stone

Andy is the director of soccer at The Zone.

He graduated from Argos High School and has been part of Argos soccer since 1981.

Andy holds a USSF D National coaching license, a NSCAA high school license and holds specialty licenses in the following: NSCAA goalkeeping level II, Meulensteen Academy level II, ICA Bronze level and NFHS level III. He is a NCSA and Argos FC board member and United Soccer Council member.

Andy has coached for AYS, MSA, AFC boys and girls along with being Argos Jr. High School's head soccer coach.

In addition, he's co-director of Chicago Fire Soccer camps held annually in Argos.

Andy, who has coached LifePlex's Futsal house teams, currently coaches the U16 girls AFC Strikers and is the assistant coach for AFC's U10 girls and U11 boys.

Dwayne Morton

Dwayne oversees The Zone’s basketball skills and development.

He coaches basketball at The Zone and provide individual instruction as well as group instruction in the sport.

Dwayne was Kentucky’s Mr. Basketball award winner in 1990.

He went on to star for Denny Crum's Louisville Cardinals and was named one of Louisville's 50 greatest players of all time by Bleacher Report.

In his three-year Louisville career, Dwayne averaged 15 points per game, ranking among the top scorers in the program's illustrious history.

The 6-foot-7 guard was a prolific 3-point shooter, hitting 111 in his career to rank ninth all time in school annals. His 46 percent 3-point shooting still ranks No. 1 in Louisville history.

Dwayne finished his collegiate career with 1,428 points and 398 rebounds.

Dwayne was a second round pick by the NBA's Golden State Warriors (45th player taken overall in the 1994 draft). He played 41 games for the Warriors during the 1994-94 season.

Dwayne played nearly 20 seasons professionally overseas in Bulgaria, Israel, England and France as well as the Dominican Republic.

Dr. Jeff Sheedy

Jeff is The Zone’s consulting facility physician in regards to speed, strength and agility and is The Zone’s consulting athletic trainer.

He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, where he was a three-year starter for the Seawolves’ men's basketball team and remains the schools fifth all-time leading rebounder.

After completing his playing eligibility Jeff remained an additional two years at UAA, as a graduate assistant coach and student athletic trainer, before embarking on his medical career.

He is a graduate of Midwestern University's Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois.

Jeff completed his Internship at St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields, Illinois. His Orthopedic Residency Program through MWU CCOM included rotations through the University of Chicago Hospitals, Northwestern University Hospital and Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn. His Sports Medicine Fellowship was completed at Barton Hospital in South Lake Tahoe, California.

He currently practices Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine in Rochester and Plymouth, Indiana.

Jeff resides in Plymouth with his wife Jenny and daughters Clare and Eva.
